SIR VIVIAN RICHARDS

Sir Don Bradman. No doubt. His achievements in 52 matches was neither surpassed in the past nor surpassable in future. The day anybody comes anywhere near his record, the debate should be started again. Till that time the record will be his. Anybody else in the past, present or future can only attempt for a place starting only 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 onwards. The first 10 places are held by Sir DON and Sir DON alone. Of course Sachin, Lara, Ponting, Gavaskar, Sir Vivian Richards, etc, etc, etc, come only after the GREAT SIR DON BRADMAN.

I feel Sir Gary Sobers of West Indies is the greatest player ever in cricket. He is the best all rounder ever played in the History of Criket, a gentleman player and a successful Captain of His Country (actuall it is a group of countries). What else can you expect from a Cricketer?

It's because the fans have made them this big. These players have worked hard but I don't think they ever entered cricket to become huge celebrities, but that's what has happened anyway. When India wins, people treat the players like Gods. Then they are seen everywhere, on TV, in magazines, on huge billboards. The media give them such importance and people accept it and want more. Some players have become brands, they appear in so many other places apart from on the pitch, that they've become more important than the game itself.

everyone can be the best player ever in cricket but the only problem is that the person needs to have stamina, will power and many other things.Even to serve someone , we need these things.PEOPLE LIKE SUNIL GAVASKAR AND R. DRAVID, S.TENDULKARhave fulfiled or tried to fulfil these things. But players like saurav ganguly, brian lara, symonds, pontingand even gilchrist can take this game in their handsbecause they are the ultimate players present. GILCHRIST , DHONI AND PONTING are among the world's best batsmen.and bowlers ,we have some ausumn bowlers like LEE, Mc GRATH etc.india doesn't seem to be a good team with bowlers.it has lack of bowlers. but the player who created the history of cricket was or can be Ian Bradshaw or Sir Dalton as others mentioned.
