Not necessarily all the wise men are respected, remember Leibniz or Van Gogh? Plato? As for dictators, they are just names, are You quite certain that democratic societies are not form of dictations?
As for animals, You`ll know for sure, if You ever become one.:-))))

My family dog, Lady is a great thinker. She thought about food and how to get more of it, and how to get more of everyone else's. She also thought about how to get out of things, like her kennel, and usually did. She also thought about how angry she was that we left her during the day and what she could do to show us that, and she did by continually strewing the garbage around the house, and once she ate a dining room chair. She also thought about ripping the heart out of the mailman, which she tried to do, every day he delivered mail. We are convinced he is a serial killer because she hates him so much. She's retired now to Florida where her dad says she thinks about how smart she is to have gotten away with that, since the Midwest is so cold in the winter and she's walking on the beach every day.

However my daughters dog, Jinx only thinks these things. Food, cookie, out and pet me more. Oh and she's got a mailman vendetta too.

"The mind is not for thinking, the mind is for receiving thought". This is true for all animals, encluding the human animal. Animals that intuit and heed God live, those that do not die. the human animal that learns to intuit and perform the will of God Has "Spiritual life" having life more abundantly. those who do not awake to and peform the will of God are the living dead and reap what they sow, As for wise men and dictators, trully wise men are created by God, Dictators are created by ignorant men. read "As a man thinketh" by James Allen.

Humans, I believe, are considered animals. I'm pretty sure they are not considered inanimate so.. . . . what do YOU think?

I know you are referring to brute animals. I don't know what cats and dogs and apes think, but I bet its something along the lines of: food, reproductive acts, and survival. I doubt they are considering the Golden Chain of Being or anything.

Why don't parrots come up with their own sentences? They have nothing to say. Just mimicking what they heard in their environment. And when they repeat, some human gives them a treat. Sounds like they are 'thinking' food!
