The CDs aren't used and they are the type that should used with the system. It just says "no CD". Weird .... What can cause it?

If this is a portable unit, it may be the lid is not closing properly. If the cd spins but won't read, could be the optic lens is dirty and can be cleaned with a Q-tip, otherwise take it to a service shop.

I have had this before and found that some cds are so light they dont seem to register. Try pushing it in firmly or pressing down on teh lid gently. Once it registers it will play with no problems.
