Politely say: Thank you very much for your kind offer. I think I'm going to be OK. If I need your help I'll ask for it".

I just say no thank you...and really hope that it works..but if it doesnt then unfortunately..i just let them help me, cuz i tried and so i know if i try any harder, it´ll just hurt their feelings.

I just tell them I can do it without them. I am very honest and upfront, nobody usually tries to force their help on me, though. =)

if they cant take the hint, i would walk off and leave them to the task
