when it all happened he didn't care, but when he had something to sell (his movie) he made nice. his father and him belong to a part of the catholic church which split decades ago when they updated some of their cannons, they still recite in Latin, believe that Jews murdered Christ and that the holocaust never happened. i believe he's a racist bigot, he is also however a brilliant filmmaker and as long as he's putting out fantastic films like apocalypto I'll continue to watch.

I believe that many people are racist and anti sematic but dont voice their opinions or act on it.That is okay you can think what you like.Mel Gibson as stated is not a main stream roman catholic and his father has in the past voiced his hatred of jews so it isnt surising that some of its rubbed off.At the time he let his mouth shoot off I dont think he considered that others would be shocked and now he is making excuses to try and make amends

Mel Gibson like lots of pain in his movies, I dont think he has anything against jews, or I could be wrong. If you notice all his movies (Braveheart, The Passion Of The Christ, Apocalypto, Gladiator) are very bloody and contain lots of gore, umm maybe he needs come counseling...

This man has upset the ,most powerful people in Hollywood. Shame on him and anyone who has his beliefs.
He is not repentant, just sorry that his career is almost over.
I've got no time for him and his bloodthirsty films.
He is an anti-semetic prat and should ship himself back to Australia, some god forsaken place in the middle of the outback and lay down and stay there. He's not fit to be in a civilised world.
In case you wonder....I hate him!

Mel Gibson is a devoted family man and Catholic. I think he's genuinely sorry about his comments about Jews. He was drunk and out of control. Basically, he seems like a good person and his career is too big to worry about being ruined. Hopefully, he's learned to stay sober.

No I didn't read that he didn't meet with them. Do you believe that?I don't believe everything I read either. I think the media can make a mountain out of a molehill and blow things out of proportion to sell junk papers and magazines.

I think that the attention drawn to him and his work, the circus that stirred up and the big deal that was made of his remarks and the media frenzy that followed all served to get more to his movies.

It was like it was scripted.
