I got them when I was 41 from my grandaughter. There wasn't a square inch of my body that wasn't covered with pox, even inside my mouth, my scalp, the bottom of my feet, everywhere. This was by far the worst experience I ever had in my life. The doctor told me he could prescribe some expensive medicine but I didn't need it, about 5 days later I could have killed kim. If you ever get chicken pox as an adult make sure the get the medication.

I got it at 20 really bad, and in the middle of Australian summer. Nobody can ever sympathise how bad it really feels unless they have gone through the same with pox at an adult age. Its up there with child birth for me! even an infected tooth extraction by the dentist was more bearable!

I had it when I was about 16. I've never been so miserable! There wasn't a single inch of my body that wasn't screaming out for me to scratch it. My kids had it late last year. One got them on halloween, so had two weeks off school. The other one started getting spots the day the first one went back to school. What I din't know was that chicken pox are at their most contagious for a week before the spots start to show, so between my two kids, and three or four other 'pocky people', we started a bit of an epidemic that's only just died out.

Wow, I was lucky I got it when I was under the age of ten and the scars and marks from the chicken pox faded away in a few months time. But wow, must be the worst experience of your entire life.

I don't remember having them but my husband broke out with them the night of our SENIOR prom in high school. It was so funny because I kept thinking "wow, his skin is really bad" because he kept getting (what I thought were zits) chicken pox.

Yes, he had to be put on some kind of medication - you could go sterile and it is serious as an adult. I feel so badly for you.

I had them when I was 10. That is something that you lived 41 years without chicken pox!! There is an immunization that children receive. I guess the docs assume all adults have had them.

I feel your pain man. I have had them twice, which is very rare. But the first time was a very mild case when I was young, maybe 8 or 9 years old. The second time, as an adult of 28 years old, and I wanted to die!!! It was certainly one of the worst experiences of my entire life.

Yes I have, and it was unpleasant!! I got it when I was 10 or 11 I think. I remember I had them everywhere, and I mean everywhere. The whole bathing in the medicated water doesn't help, it just makes you smell like urine the whole time you have them!!
