If this is your first child don't be surprised if you go past your due date, maybe 2 weeks over. Just take it one day at a time. Have you had that Burst Of Energy yet? Well, prior delivering you'll get that wonderful burst and it's a wonderful feeling. Walking is really a key. Are you taking or did you take any childbirth classes? If so, review all your material and practice your breathing. Get all those little tasks done like, pack your suitcase, get your address book up to date for thank you notes, clean the baby's nursery, stock up on diapers, get film and pray. Remember that baby will come when he's ready, not when you're ready. Just think of it this way, "God is giving him his last heavenly instructions to prepare for his life's journey on earth." God Bless You & Your New Born Child.

Please wait for a few more days. I know it must be a very tough time, but waiting for a few more days really is best for the baby. If there was any hurry the doctor will take notice. Your date must be just 4 days away.
If u survived 39 weeks, 4 days wont be a lot, and anyway, at 2cm, you'll probably have the baby very very soon, maybe within this day only.

I am in the same spot although I am 41 weeks and the doctor said anyday now, I go in on Monday to see if we are going to induce. I am trying everything also. I just got this book on inducing labor through acupressure, I am going to start tomorrow during the super bowl. From everything and atleast 3 of my friends they say it works within hours, although you do have to do it for a couple hours, I guess it works and and helps with labor pain. Best of luck!

Gentle exercise, sex, spicy food. The thing is, the baby is probably quite happy at the moment and it's always better to leave nature takes its own course. Labour can be a very lengthy thing so don't worry too much, it will happen when it's supposed to happen.

Chill baby!!! I was 40 weeks and 5 days over my due date. Your baby must be happy where it is! I know how you feel though. I had warm baths but ended up being induced on the 5th day after winging to my ob....... Is this your 1st baby? Mine was and she didnt want to come out! She weighed 9pounds 4 and was 53cm long! And very healthy. She is now 22months old....
Good luck!!!

my sister was dilated to 1cm for about 2 weeks.. she kept feeling like he was ready to come out, but still she had to keep waiting.. she went to her boyfriend's one night, and apparently they got it on, and had some pizza, well his nor my parents were aware of them getting jiggy with it while she was there, so they kept sharing stories of other females they knew who said they had pizza the night or day she gave birth to her baby, so my suggestion is, order some pizza, extra pepperoni!.. * he he *.. and you and your man do the horizontal tango, and see where that gets you.. I'm not trying to be dirty.. just letting you know what sped up my sister's labor, and a few friend's.. and while she was at the hospital, they had her walking around when she was dilated at 3, they stretched it a bit by fingers, and kept her walking till she was ready.. so eat pizza, get some booty, because after wards you won't be getting any for about 6 weeks.. so ENJOY!.. you will miss it, for that 6 weeks, and walk around a bit..
Good luck hun.. hope your baby is healthy.. :)

I'm glad you didn't go into labor at 36 weeks. The baby is still needing this time to develop her/his lungs. Give the baby time..he'll arrive. But walking does always help.

Sounds crazy but nipple stimulation actually encourages uterine contractions, same as after the baby is born and nursing helps the uterus contract preventing excessive blood loss and helping it to return to normal size
