Have you tryed a fan or would ear plug help you.? If you can sleep with a fan going try putting the fan in the bathroom. You seem to be ok with the water running so a fan should be just as ok.
Unless you tell your land lord that you are using the shower as a way to not hear you neighbor I do not think he can make you pay.
Unless it is stated in your lease that the land lord will only pay the water bill if it under a certain amount then he can not make you pay it.
I believe regardless of the reason. if what your neighbor is doing in his apartment is disturbing you then your land lord needs to address it. I am not sure how he or you can fix it but it needs to be addressed.
Good Luck.

Well if I was mediating you'd definitely be paying for the water. Your neighbour can't help snoring, what on earth do you expect the landlord to do about it. You could play quiet music to drown out the noise. Speaking from personal experience you get used to the sound of snoring very quickly anyway unless you are determined to make an issue out of it.
How much water costs depends on where you live. Where I live the more you use the more expensive it gets. I think it starts at 32 cents per cubic litre but I can't remember exactly but goes up quite dramatically if you use a lot.
Sorry but I think you are deliberately being bloody minded in order to punish your landlord for some imagined offence by causing him to have a huge water bill. If you end up paying it you have only yourself to blame.

You know what? I used to live in a very low income neighborhood where I listened to husbands/wives and boyfriends/girlfriends either screaming at each other, throwing furniture, or making whoopey every night.
I got used to it.
Turn the damn shower off, buy some ear muffs and stop being a dolt. Your landlord can't do anything about your neighbor snoring, for crying out loud, and neither can you. Your landlord also can never make you pay for water until it's in your rental agreement, but he CAN raise your rent when the agreement runs out to cover the cost.

What a coincedence! I keep ALL my TVS on all night to drown out my ingnorant neighbor with the shower on all night. Wow. Have you ever heard of WASTING WATER. If that's not the most blatant waste of resource. Do you know that many developing countries do not have acess to drinking WATER! Nevermind the ability to waste it. "A fifth of the world's population, in 30 countries, faced water shortages in 2000, a figure that will rise to 30 percent of the population, in 50 countries, by 2025, according to the World Water Council based in Marseilles, France." Try earplugs.

You really could not figure another way to drown out the sound? no, you used the shower because its easy, and you knew it would cost him money. You were mad because he wouldnt fix your problem. Why would you want to waste so much water?
Anyway, yes he can make you pay for the excessive water use. He may have agreed to pay the water bill, but not for you to run it all night.

We do have to live on the planet with other people of varying noise, smell, and behavior. It's challenging sometimes. :) A CD of waterfalls would accomplish the same without the resource impact of running the water all night. Your response is designed to annoy someone in retaliation because you are annoyed.

hahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaa......
I'm not laughing at your plight, not at all. But "I run the shower on full blast all night to drown out my neighbors snoring."
That's beyond hilarious.
Anyway... Maybe you should get one of those giant window fans that sound like a space-ship taking off. That'll do the trick!

Its not his responsibility or problem if the neighbours snore loud. He can't force you but he can kick you out. Its a bad idea, why don't you just put water music on instead?

it is a bad idea to do so as you are harming the environment and stuff like that.If he finds out, it depends on him actually. you can just buy earplugs and the noise will be blocked out. Or a song, MP3 or something like that.
