In the Harry Potter books you can read about Harry going to Dumbledore's office using the moving spiral staircase, which is like a spiral escalater. How does he get down again?

Allright.

Whenever Harry goes to Dumbledore's office, he steps on the "moving spiral staircase" which takes him up. So it's like a magic spiral escalator. But the story never tells how he gets down again, of course that staircase only goes up, otherwise it would cause problems if two people would attempt to ride it at the same time.
How does one get out of Dumbledore's office?

Maybe, because it is magical, it prevents people from going both up and down at the same time. And if people meet on the stairs, it is because the staircase has been stopped.

i think that 'escalator' is like a screw..it can go both upwards and downwards...and ofcourse like everything else in hogwartz, its run by magic.
