I know what you mean....
I say if you totally enjoy being in front of the computer then go for it. You know when it's too much. If you no longer enjoy it then you'll automatically stop...or at least cut down the time spent on it.
When I feel I've had enough I simply walk away and do something else....and then when I feel I wanna return to it I do.
Trust and listen to yourself and your gut feelings.

Probably. Depends how much reality you currently experience. I spend lots of hours in front of my pc, but I also spend plenty of time in the real world also. Depends on the balance. The fact that you need to ask means, I think, that you need to get away from the pc for a few hours each day.

If this is affecting your real life I would say yes, I think I am an internet addict... last year I had not internet because I wanted to have a real life and in these time without internet I could meet cool people and it was amazing! I learned that the best of life is what the people in real life around you can give you because you can be more authentic! also I think people act in one way on internet and other way in real life, I mean in internet sometime I say things that I would not say in reallity or at least not that easy... if you think that it is affecting your real life in a negative way try to be less time on internet , if you spend 5 hours on internet by day then try to spend 4 hours, later just 3... that's what I am doing now that I have internet again and sometimes I try to spend days without getting online.
Sorry for my bad english but I am from Mexico...

Yes. The computer has a way of sucking you in, and sucking the life out of you, like television. I think you should set a timer for just enough time to do what you want to do on the computer, and when it goes off, turn it off.
You will live a happier life if you actually can reach out and touch the world around you instead of bumping into a computer screen.

It depends on what you do in front of your computer. The internet can be a source of complete rubbish, and at the same time can be a source of good things. You can study, you can play interesting games, can read, can communicate with people, etc. If you think your time is being wasted, just try to do interesting things. But if you are really sick of looking at the screen, spend more time breathing fresh air, it will be good to you.

Yes, though I think you mean restrict. Ban would mean to completely eliminate your time.
You really need to see the world outside of the box, because like tv..its addicting and can draw you in. Too much of anything can be bad for you...sadly even chocolate.
hope this helps you realize your reality you have at the moment..

sure, why not. i was going to do the same/ it is just so addicting. i don't mind the yahoo Q&A at all. I love reading people's ideas about things events etc. It's kind of real only we don't see who they are(people) we only read through their minds through their words, ideas and aspirations. It's kind of real and inspiring to know that majority of the people here are really smart or intelligent at all points. Same as in My Space. I read through blogs, my mind usually puts a clear perception of what the person may look like just reading through their works, prose and poetry in some cases.
it is a total different story when you get attached to one, and you start to want to know his real identity, what is frustrating, you can't know through this window infront of your eyes, in this, i guess, it will be up to me or you to go the other channel of meeting personally the person. The internet let us absorb a wide array of useful information. This information are real. I guess it really depends on what you were connoting as real.
