It's really a very good question. Many people are facing problem of the viruses, malware, spyware and so many ware now a days.Virus is a great ISSUE in the computer world. Actually there still no such antiviruses manufacturer who can gaurantee you completly that they will save your computer 100% free from those attacks. The first is you yourself to protect your computer from virus. Don't visit unwanted site. like porn sites, cracker sites and download sites, Don't open unwanted mail. mean don't open any kind of attachment that you don't know. Check your system that what process is running in the background of your computer. what are the program that loads in your computer at startup? try to find out. you can check what process is running at startup by click on start, Run and type MSCONFIG. to check the process just click on start, Run and type TASKMGR. Study in details all about those process which is running on the background of yor computer in the internet. If you have any doubt just remove the process from your computer. Hope you understand now. little clue will also help you to find more. Go forward and do it yourself.

If your antivirus program (if any) tells you the file name of the virus, search for it and try to delete it. If that doesn't work, you might wanna ask someone whose computer savvy. For future reference you might want to think of what caused the virus in the first place. I know that using peer-to-peer downloading programs such as "Limewire" can transfer serious viruses, some that can't be easily deleted. My best advice would be to ask someone that can actually come over and help you because simply saying "how do I get rid of a virus" is pretty vague. To me atleast.

if it hasn't affected your operating system then run a virus scan while in Safe mode and get rid of infection.

A gud anti virus software..... can help u to get rid of all kinda of virus....

Backup ur windows folder.... If ur computer has been infected ... with virus.. restore it..
