I like trees w/o any leaves too. IDKY, just do. BUT- I was just watching a show I have never seen before on tv "NY Ink" a few days ago and this girl got a tree w/o any leaves. It was awesome! SHE told the artist it was because she was like in the "gypsy" years of her life, going here and there, wherever the wind blew (kind of like a sabbatical...) and that she got the tree so that as she "grew up" and put her life together, she would ADD a leaf here and there signifying a milestone, or an accomplishment, or a goal reached, or a dream come true or whatever. She said she thought it would be really interesting when she was old and gray to see how many leaves grew on it over the years. OR SOMETHING TO THAT POINT... I like the idea very much even though I am not into getting tats anymore. I got one and threw around getting a ring before, but haven't and prolly won't. I think you should get a leafless tree, and ADD leaves as you grow.

For me, a leaf symbolizes selflessness. It is created for a single purpose, to provide energy to the plant, and it is discarded the moment it outlives its usefulness. You never get the sense, however, that the leaf would be angry at the tree, or that it would have preferred to be something else. It is satisfied with the its role in life, does its job as well as it can for as long as it's needed, and simply floats away when it's over.

We could all learn a lesson from leaves.

rovides food for a plant because it's filled with chloroplasts which convert sunlight and carbon dioxide into oxygen and sugar. If you mean what does it mean to me spiritually, it symbolizes the ability to shed the things you need in order to grow newer, stronger relationships.
