They are using selective evidence as proof of global warming being caused by man. Their evidence is taken from the last few hundred years, which is a tiny fraction of the age of the earth. 70 million years ago, the earth was 15 degrees c warmer than it is now. What we really need to be doing is fighting pollution because of the harm it does, rather than fighting against global warming.

It's a common misunderstanding the earth does warm naturally. But it is being sped up alot faster do to so much more carbon dioxide in the air that is deteriating the ozone. So think about it like a seesaw with a kid slighty bigger on one side and another kid on the other now global warming goes and sits on the side with the bigger kid. The seesaw falls to the ground faster. If that makes no since im sorry haha. The mpoint is the earth warms and cools naturally but global warming speeds up the process it is not the only reason for the process.
Great question by the way.

John Stossel is a clown with no credibility. Protect your own credibility by not mentioning him as a "source".
There are literally thousands of reputable scientists and hundreds of studies from around the globe showing a rise in worldwide temperatures over the last century. To deny scientific statements on global warming requires denying all science, period; if you do, why are you using a computer?
There are even _written_ records which as centuries old, written at a time when the discussion of global warming did not exist: the log books of ships' captains. They kept detailed records of weather (including temperatures) from around the world; why would they falsify their readings when accuracy was needed for future voyages? Such log books contain a wealth of information on the world's environment from centuries ago and they agree with the statements of today's scientists.
And that's without mentioning other verifiable evidence such as tree rings (from trees as old as 1000 years) and ice core samples taken from the permafrost in the arctic and antarctic.
The only people who refute global warming are those beholden to oil companies, be they owners and stockholders or those who broadcast and depend on advertising eg. Disney. By the way, Disney owns ABC, the network that broadcasts "20/800" (a/k/a "Legally Blind") and was the company that produced the farcical and lie-filled "9/11" movie.

Is John Stossel a scientist? No, he is a journalist. Would you believe what one person says, or the entire scientific community?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPCC_Fourth_Assessment_Report
This is a recent report from a UN commission which states that there's a 90%+ chance it is caused by humans.
If you want actual facts and want to have it laid out for you, you can watch the movie by Al Gore. This is not a politicized movie, so it can be enjoyed by both sides of the aisle.

There is absolutely no reason to be in denial about such an important topic in the world today. You can't ignore it and keep your current lifestyle, because it won't go away.

Is it getting warmer and warmer and warmer each year ? If so, Then that's proof. Are sea levels rising globally ? Are there more frequent heat waves that kill lots of people? yes,yes and yes.
Venice gets flooding more frequently due to global warming. It's simple. There are more people on the planet now then have ever been in all of Human and Primate history.
The surface area of our planet hasn't changed.Frogs,dogs,cats,birds,lions.whales or any other animal is not the problem. We are and some of us are in denial.
Did any other species invent; coal powered trains, ovens, cars, air craft, clear cutting of forests or thermo nuclear weapons ? We're accelerating this global warming phenomenon.

there is actual statistical data that shows temperatures in the world rose by a significantly meaningful change over the last 200 years, with most of the change occurring in the last 50 years, but there is not sufficient proof that it was caused by the effects of excessive use of fossil fuels, however that is the most likely explanation.

Interesting. You don't simply ask for proof, but for actual and conclusive proof. Perhaps, other people may follow you in asking for the actual and conclusive proof about the existence of nature.
And who will be the authoritative answerer and who the final referee?
