SM Mall of Asia is the third largest mall in the world and it is found in the Philippines...My point is, i would like you to evaluate the overall facilities MOA ( MAll of Asia) could offer.. By this way, I could determine if the Philippines is ready to conduct its own Shopping Festival...thanks:-)

I've been there a lot of times and I gotta say that even if it's large, it still lacks some variety of stores. It's incomplete in short. No shop for auto supplies, dental/medical supplies, and other needs. It's just a huge place for the same kind of stores for apparel, furniture, food, etc... just a magnified SM Megamall.

I've been there many times since my office is near the place. So far, my shopping experience there has been good. Let me just enumerate for better explanation:

PARKING. Parking at MOA is OK. They charge you P40 fixed rate everytime you enter the multi-level parking lot. They just recently developed the land on each side of the mall so that there's an open parking on either side. I'm not sure how much this costs though coz I never attempted to park there seeing as I've heard stories of people losing their car wheels while parked around the mall's open parking spaces.

WASHROOMS/RESTROOMS. Restrooms here are OK. Like the usual malls in Manila, they don't have toilet paper supplied for each stall and sometimes there's no soap in the dispenser. Also, so far, they don't have those "pay as you enter" restrooms like in Glorietta (although i'm not much of a fan of those coz I believe these restrooms should be free for use of everyone and should be complete with supplies).

HANDICAP/SENIOR CITIZENS Facilities. They have a small vehicle, similar to a golf cart (sans the roof), that circles inside the mall from time to time. I think only the senior citizens or those handicapped are allowed to ride. Aside from these "golf cart" vehicles, they also have a "shuttle" that surrounds the exteriors of the mall. This is not limited to senior citizens or handicapped as the case is with the "golf cart."

These are what I can think of so far. All in all, i'm satisfied in going to MOA since they almost have everything you need all in that one place. Oh, they still don't have a gym facility there. So I guess that's a negative point for them. But so far, i'm satisfied with what this mall has to offer.

Good luck in your evaluation.Ü

Well, the one time I was there, they were having a mass for the handicaped... so, it does have a large enough area for a meeting place.

Actually, the layout of the place doesn't turn me on at all. It's 2 stories high, and has a large number of fingers each of which has some stores. The result is that you have to walk a mile to see anything. To top it all off, half of the fingers are open to weather with a roof, so regular rain won't hit you, but a typhoon where the rain flies horizontally is something else again. Try the Megamall - It's SM too and seems bigger (at least to me).

I think its only so big is because there is alot of walkway space. You could probably walk 30 people side by side down the mall and still have space to walk around them if you are in a hurry :P I dont like that the movie theater is in back, or some shops charge more than you would pay in the states for some items. Although some shops have good prices (like Bench) where you can get a pair of jeans for 10 bucks, i walked into a nother store where they sold a world series of poker game with cards and playing chips for around 800 dollars american. (40,000 pesos)

I've only been there once, (being the recluse that i sometimes am) and the only best part i like about it is the view of the bay - totally relaxing.

As to the facilities, well...personally i don't find anything really wow about it. Or maybe it was too big i didn't really see the rest of the places...
I enjoy shopping in places with concept like that of Greenbelt Mall balance of nature-architecture-people...

Philippines has the best malls I ever saw. Nothing like it in USA. I like Ayala Center in Cebu and Robinsons in Ermita. Either one of those in USA would dwarf anything we've got. Plus, the malls in USA are like ghost town compared to Philippines. So many beautiful people, Damn!
