Chemical and Biological technicians work in labs. Don't necessary work in design or retail, but as part of the manufacturing process, they check the quality of mixes in large scale manufacturing processes such as oil production, plastics, steel works.

As well as providing technical support to police they also work in archaeology, They gather data and samples from a crime scene or archaeological dig and piece together all the information available. Their work can include everything from DNA analysis to sex determination from skeletal remains, tracing artifacts, establishing cause of death, circumstances of the disposal of remains, time of death, etc.
