On Yahoo mail beta can a sound be added to notify of received e mails?

I don't think so, but if you log into Yahoo Messenger at the same time, you will be able to close off Yahoo Mail, and do whatever, and you'll get a small tab and sound notify you of any incoming emails to your designated non-spam folders.

Open Bt communicator with Yahoo Messenger.
Left click the word `messenger` left click `privacy options` left click `alert and sounds` left click `I receive a message in yahoo mail` tick boxes `playing a sound` `showing an icon in system tray` `showing a message at the right bottom corner of my screen`.
Next to the browse button you will see a arrow/box. click on this to see if you have any mail sound....
If you have - or don`t have a sound - you can change it by clicking on the browse button and adding your own mail alert sound.
