I mean, let's face it, he can perform all these incredible spells and yet not be able to remedy his own near/farsightedness? Highly suspicious, if you ask me!

I think people are way to critical of small things like this. There are many things that us muggles just do not understand. Like if the house elves take care of all of Hogwarts why do they need filtch. Why does he have to clean the hallways if they have a bunch of house elves. At the different bars why do they have to wipe glasses when they could just magic new ones. This is all stuff that just makes you wonder but in the end we all love the magical world and would give anything to live there.

Harry Potter is a Minor wizard he downs't have the power to repair eyesight. And also Is there a spell for that. I don't think they can, "REPARO" and zap his eyes are good as new. I personaly think that j.k. rowling did a good job their. It shows us that he is Still mortal, and is not like Voldemort.

The Dalai Lama also wears glasses, and his third eye is fully open. Should he not have a third lens for his third eye?

Very good question!
The first answer could be: literature (for children) and logic are not married together.
Second approach: for the look ?
