I've watched a handful of magic shows on television throughout my life. And everytime I do, I often wondered if the tricks they do is really magic or just pure illusion that they trained for years. If it is magic, can an ordinary person do the tricks they watch on TV? If magic does not exist, then how can they OR me myself use illusion to fool millions around the world? By the way, do have any idea how to create fake fire that will not cause any harm to anyone? Your answers are much appreciated. TQ!

If it were real magic, they wouldn't all just do silly tricks. At least some of them would save lives and / or try to take over the world.
It takes a lot of practice to do the tricks they do on TV, but almost anybody can do them. To trick millions around the world doesn't take much, though, because people are gullible. Buy a magic book. I bought a big thick one. It's pretty ellaborate how a lot of it is done. Fake fire? Can't help you there.

Their magic in the way that it gives people something to think about instead of people just sitting around all day. Though I'm pretty sure its all really well timed illusion. I was a magician for a couple years and I learned that with enough practice you can pretty much pull anything off. As for fake fire...

Wind
Or you could just be like me and use real fire in magic tricks.... It's funner.

Performing magic is an art. But this doesn't make it any less real. Take it from a lapsed magician, there is nothing more magical than giving a performance and a nursing home and seeing the smiles of a hundred patrons. That is magic!
If, however, you are asking if the tricks are mystical in nature then I will say no. They possess the magic to make the sick smile and the weary forget their troubles. But it does take a lot of practice and effort. I also hope that many magicians aren't using their art to fool people around the world but to entertain people.

Magicians are just entertainers , they use all kind of scientific stuff to design their show so that the audience could not imagine what is really happening in there.
Once I had the good luck and the honor to help David Coperfield in one of his tricks.It was a really fun experience.
I can`t tell you how he did it , this will spoil his illusion and the work of many people that work very hard designing building and testing this stuff to make them work.

Real magic do exist but in form of people that had acquire some kind of knowledge from their ancestors.Real magic is not like Harry Potter magic ,real magic in this kind o form is a interesting blend from some kind of informal science , customs and religious believes.
Here in Mexico real magic is easy found just a matter of visiting some special placers such as "Mercado de Sonora". Personally I found it as something very interesting as its part of my society.Real magicians such as witches or herb doctors are not mad and are not ignorants.I have heard of witches that are regularly visited by politicians and rich people.
Stuff like this are just an informal way of knowledge passed by by very smart people that know nothing about science but know a lot about the world.
Once almost join the Wicca (this is not Mexican magic tradition) but I realized that I was more curious than convinced about that. Apart from that I had not have any real contact with this kind of stuff but I sure admire and respect it. Its very interesting to me.

Magic is real, but the tricks you are talking about, they're just for entertainment, but there is real magic in this world that isn't, well, very amusing! I know you're probably thinking I'm crazy and just a psycho but I just choose to believe it exists because it does.

We were given a very powerful mind. Some people were called "People of electricity" for a reason. They project electricity out of their bodies. One nun in the Philippines have hands that are so hot it can water perfect for bathing but it was used for healing. Magic's most important principle is "Mind over Body". As the mind is the most powerful part of our body. It is composed of a conscious mind and a sub conscious mind which is responsible for everything supernatural and paranormal happening in our lives. It awakes in times of danger and in great need. We cannot control our sub conscious only people who has great concentration and has been trained for years can do anything that is very supernatural for they have control over their sub conscious.
