I live in a developing country, and twice have been given false addresses for their 'local' offices...

A lot of groups used to sponsor individual children and gave it up. They found that it created jealousy. Now, if you read the fine print, you'll notice that it says that the moneyd doesn't go to the children directly, but to community projects such as drilling wells for clean water for everyone. It still helps the child, but it's not direct sponsorship.

Please consider posting the country you're in as an additional detail, so people will know.

The only thing I do not trust is the fathers who give up their offspring..
