For me ... I was in the first stage of labor 15 hours , I had an epi about 5 hours after i had started , my active labor (when you push ) was less than 5 min , i pushed 5 times and he came out (my first) i vulva tearing instead of regular tearing , it hurt for a few weeks , but not all that bad really.

i felt horrid when i farted in my docs face....
but everyone almost laughed and kept a straght face the whole time.

the only thing that i didnt find all that funny was that wearing an oxygen mask dried out my lips horrbly it took a month to get them back to normal

Don't be scared. Everyones labor is different. (I know, easier said than done!)

how long did your labor last? My labor lasted 36 hours.

how many times did you want to get up and go home or i'll come back and do it later? Nope, the excitement keeps you there and you just want to get it over and done with anyways.

was there any things that happened that you didnt find funny then but can laugh about it now? I was apologizing to people for being high. Especially my mother.

did anything go wong that it just so happens it was the docors falt and you had a laugh? I don't think I woulda been laughing if the doctor messed anything up.

did you at any time laugh in your labor? Oh yeah! It's not all work and pain. You get the meds to help with the pain. Stadol rules!!! I laughed some. I had a hard labor but you know what, I would do it ten times over. Cliche', I know...but it's too true.

Good luck. Most labors are problem free. Just enjoy it, remember it, and take lots of pictures!!!

1. I didn't count how many times I pushed
2. I went in for my routine check-up at 10am feeling great, got told that they were going to induce me that day (SHOCK!), had my needle at 1pm, started having contractions at 3pm, had my beautiful baby boy at 8:15pm. Apparently I'd been in labour since the night before anyway but I hadn't realised (just a sore back).
3. I just wanted it over and done with, as quick as possible!!
4. My mum sprayed perfume around the room at one stage (it can get a little icky) and I told her to f#@! off - I've never sworn in front of my mum before! Lucky my mum is also a midwife so has heard/seen everything before.
5. I didn't have a doctor, I had a midwife. She had purple hair, which was kinda distracting!
6. I was on the gas so I got a bit giggly
7. Would you believe that a week later, you wont remember the pain? Believe it. You'll remember that you were in pain, but its not a physical memory (if that makes sense).

My little man will be 3 in May and I can still remember everything about that day - right down to how nervous my hubby was!

Sweetie, just take the epidural. I had two children with natural childbirth and it isn't worth it. My labor pains lasted 10-12 hours and no, I dont remember anything funny.

Every pregnancy is different. It is so beautiful. My children are 28 and 29. Each birthday that they have, I always remember every part of that day. I was able to watch my grandson be born and that is one day that I will always remember also. I can see his little head poking in and out. Let the grandparents watch if they want. We do not look at your privates. We just watch for that little one to pop out.
