There are some great courses out there, but you should consult the techniques of Cortez Peters, Jr. The son of a world champion typist and an eventual world champion himself, Peters could crank out an error-free 175 words per minute on one of those old-fashioned mechanical typewriters, and he's faster than 225 words per minute on a computer keyboard.

When I was in college, a typing course based on his techniques brought me from no typing skill whatsoever to 55 words per minute in 16 weeks.

Check the links here to get started. (The first one has some GREAT prices!) All the Best!

Look around (try a thrift store) for a typing book so you can learn the keyboard layout. Just following the book. It is mostly a matter of PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE.

Do not allow yourself to hunt and peck. You will NEVER learn to do it correctly.

It is not hard, you just have to practice the letter locations and memorize them. and practice practice practice.

The quick brown ... is quite good. After 4 - 8 hours, you can type without looking at the keyboard. After that it only gets better and faster.
