Everywhere I go I hear people coughing or clearing their throat. I take it as an expression of disapproval.?

Am I being paranoid, or do I need to examine my bearing and appearance and try to figure out what the problem is?

I don't think people would deliberately cough; this spreads any germs that they might have causing themselves to be distasteful to others.
Probably they would use some other means to show their disapproval; however, this could include clearing their throat but it should be a very slight "ugh! ugh!" with mouth closed.
This is probably just a false analysis on your part because you have not experienced enough social contacts. If you feel otherwise, you might need to see your doctor; as medications or special foods or vitamins improve mental balance and brain function (so I have read in the past).

It could be paranoia, in the figurative sense. You could be having a bit of depression. If it's affecting you so much that you can't hang around a place, then you should talk to the doctor. Otherwise, it's probably just the flu.
