I'm not into Opera too but I LOVE that song! both versions by Pavarotti and Il Divo... It's probably the flute in the song, or even the SOUL of the music! You should know wad i mean. :)

You would be surprised how many metal-heads like classical music. Even the full on ones have had conversations with me about classical music - granted this was at a party and we were all pretty wasted, but still metlheads like classical.

It might be to do with the fact that out of the rock genre (pop, metal, soft-rock) metal can be some of the most progressive and "musical" music. For example, I don't know about you but I really get into any dimebag solo. This listening really improves your melodic ear a lot more then Kylie minogue will which is why many popers don't like classical - they just can't ubderstand it (I'm not just spitting out random **** here, there was a study done in England about the degradation of pop fans musical ear)

But yeah... Ave Maria is your favorite song cause it kicks ***. Mines Rachmaninoff's prelude in C# min, give it a listen its ballsy as hell

Because most of the time it is sung beautifully. True art in music appeals to everybody with a good ear. It doesn't matter what you favor.
