I love your one response that after the 1960's, women could suddenly stop following that vow to the letter, but I have noticed that men are often hit with every last vow if they misbehave or do anything contrary to what some wifes think right. I believe if you are going to have Christian vows, you should stick to them, even if the Bible is like 2000 years old, there is no excuse, not even women's lib and the civil rights movement. This was well after the Bible was written, so a non-issue. If a couple believes they are a hybrid Christian couple, with pick and choose vows, they should tailor them, and follow them. None of this, you know what I mean, or this is really how it's going to work after the vows are exchanged. There are people who kind of make their own thing after they make an agreement. That is a conflict if you ask me. If a couple wants to play 50-50 from the beginning, the vows should be that way. No specific talk about how one spouse will obey all their vows, and the other will take advantage of them because an advancement in society somehow negates the Bible. That last answer about how a wife does not have to obey, and the guy has to submit his paycheck is horrible. If she can break her vows, submitting his paycheck should not be such an expectation.

Not in the 21st century, no. People have to agree to disagree sometimes, and if a decision has to be reached, they need to compromise. Sometimes that means one person gives in on one occasion, but gets his or her way another time. Sometimes that means they find something in the middle to solve that particular disagreement. No one should always have the final say.

Not in this household. I already have a Daddy, and it ain't him, although sometimes he thinks it is and then he gets a reality check.
