What is the sense in working if welfare is so easily obtained?

Wanna give welfare to the needy? Well what can the needy do for our society other than complain that they have not enough support?

If you know how to play the system you do not have to work. Welfare does not support the average person's spending habits and they are always looking for ways to sub-sidies the income. Stealing from the tax paying public is the easiest and many of the ones in jail just go there so the checks mount up while we pay the room and board. Six months they are out on the street and spending money until it is time to get caught again.

First off, welfare is nearly impossible to get these days. People who do get it have really good reasons, and can only have it for a limited amount of time.

Food stamps and medicaid can be obtained by some who are working for the minimum wage, have children, and do not have health insurance from their jobs. These people need to leave their little children with strangers at daycare centers--when they should be home with them--but can't get child support or welfare.

Well look at what just happened last week with the tornadoes that hit central Florida. The home owners in Florida had the blue tarps on their roofs the next day, if they sill had a roof. Big change of people on roofs and stranded waiting for somebody to come help them. The only difference is the people in New Orleans had DAYS notice, in advance, and were told to leave the city. The tornado gave no advanced notice.
Kind of like pulling a wagon sometimes either you are a puller or you are a rider.

what do you suggest should be done about the needy, some of them can not support themselves, do you suggest they should be let to starve.
The fact is that getting welfare so easily and sufficiently so the push to earn more is lessened, causes many people to avoid work and become regulars on the welfare payroll.
however, most people still prefer to work, since there is usually more money in it, and work itself is very often self satisfying.

You're a moron..... welfare is not easily obtained and certainly does not pay as well as a job. Be thankful that you are not poor and remember that we are judged by how we treat those who are less fortunate than ourselves. You should educate yourself. I recommend doing some volunteer work. You'll broaden your horizons AND it will keep you busy. You obviously have too much time on your hands.

My personal opinion is that if you are able bodied, you should be taken off welfare and made to get a real job. Join the military if you have to.
