I have the perfect solution for your problem. It is a product called FRIDGE IT odor absorbers. It is a littler purple cube with an activated carbon filter inside that is really great. It works so much better than baking soda and all those sprays. You probably should place one in your freezer and your refrigerator since circulate together but also put a couple around the area. The carbon filter in this product literally eliminates the odors and works for a long time. I use this product everywhere including my fridge and freezer and also under sinks, near trash and have friends that use it on cat litter box and also diaper pails - it's that good. I really recommend it and it's not expensive. You can buy it in kitchen gadget sections in stores like walmart and linens and things. I also think camping world sells it. Definitely worth trying. It's the best product for any household odors.

The smell and the residue can and will soak it's way into the freezers insulation via seams in door etc. I make a past out of baking soda and water and smear it around the inside of the freezer. Then wait! Time heals "most" things. Wadded up blk & white newspapers placed inside closed freezer also will remove some odors. So will sunshine and fresh air if you can get it out of basement.

First, please check all around and under the freezer, if you find nothing, then please use baking soda and warm water and with a rag, wipe down all of the interior and then exterior surfaces of the freezer. Does it have a drip pan? If so, please check that, and wash it with baking soda/water. Then, if the smell still isn't gone, I learned this tip from someone years ago-place several pieces of newspaper in the freezer, that should also help to absorb the odors. Or some charcoal may help too. If this stuff doesn't work, then please go to your local appliance store, and ask them. Take care.

we've all had our blunders of forgetting about nutrition, and that i will cope with maximum smells. yet rotten potatoes are the worst! I recommend really rotten, like once you ultimately hit upon them and bypass to throw them out black stuff drips out and they mush on your hand. Throw all that jointly, and that is merely previous gross. I merely about barfed.

The stench could have been so bad, that it even killed the mouse....I'd look for a dead mouse holding its nose closed. Maybe under the fridge...
