How old is "under 18"? 17 is a world of difference than, for instance, NINE.

Her parent's approval makes no difference in the eyes of the law. Depending on the age, statutory rape charges may apply.

This is copied from the Website I list below.

Sex with a minor is against the law. That is the cold hard fact. It doesn't matter if they said yes. Or, if they initiated it. You're an ADULT. You're RESPONSIBLE. And, you'll PAY.

Q What is statutory rape?
A It's a crime committed when an adult has sexual intercourse with a minor, even if they agree.

Q What is a minor?
A Anyone under the age of 18.

Q Who is considered an adult?
A Anyone 18 or older.

Q What if we are both under the age of 18?
A If you're both minors, this too is statutory rape.

Q What happens if I have sex with a minor?
A If reported, you will be arrested, sent to jail and tried in a court of law.

Q What if I'm 19 and my girlfriend/boyfriend is 17?
A If you have sex with her or him, it's a crime. That's statutory rape.

Q What happens if they said yes?
A Even if they agree to have sex and have not been pressured it's still statutory rape and it's against the law.

Law of the land says 18 years old is the age of consent. 18 to vote, 18 to join the military, 18 to consent to sex. At 18 you are old enough to die in battle, have children you cannot afford or care for, select the leader of the free world.

If you have sex, it's statutory rape. But if the parents are okay, then they won't press charges. If they won't press charges, then you don't get caught. If you are 'doin it' in public, or if some nosy person calls the police, you will get hauled in.
Kissing? Isn't illegal.
But, just don't piss her off or breakup. Because, technically (not saying she would) she could go in as much as a year later and press charges, consentual or not.

How old is she? Usually its breaks at 14 and it depends how much older you are. (5yr difference) Like most laws it fails at enforcement. So if her parents are ok, do it. Her parents can allow her to get married at 17, probably what your thinking of.

Yeah, the parents have the right to revoke any laws they don't agree with.... Keep telling yourself that, it'll be a good thing to comfort you as you go to sleep at night in prison with a scratchy wool blanket and a very interested cellmate...

In most states, this is not legal. Whether or not her parents give you their blessing, it doesn't matter.

If sexual contact is proven, you could be charged with statuatory rape or lewd acts against a minor.

She is what is called "jail bait." Find someone your own age who is legal.
