My ex-girlfriend and I bought a house. Her name went on the deed because she had better credit. I was supposed to be added after a year. I spend a full year working on the house, paying 1/2 mortgage, most the utilities. I spent hundreds of hours and a lot of money fixing the place up. She hooked up with her boss, filed false charges against me and had the locks changed. She decided she didn't have to keep her word, and many personal belongings are still there. Can I sue for wrongful eviction? Or put a lien on the house for compensation for the year I spent updating and maintaining the place? Small claims court for my belongings? Argh. I was a fool in love, we had a kid and I trusted her.

See a real estate attorney. It may cost you a few dollars but it may help you in the end.

If her name's on the deed because she had better credit, it probably means that your name isn't on the mortgage papers. If that's the case you have no ownership whatsoever in that house.

To obtain a lein-You need proof that you were to be paid for the work that you did on the repairs (as if you were a hired contractor or repairman) as well as proof that you actually made them.

You can't sue for wrongful eviction because it sounds like you have no legal claim to the house nor lease, something of that sort.

Your best bet to is to sue for your damages and have the cops escort you to get your stuff back.

You need to see an attorney. A lein can only be placed on a property after a court ruling in your favor.

You need to contact a real estate attorney about this. You may well be entitled to just compensation. Sorry for your entanglement.

seems flakey
you do not get "false charges"
someone can not just say..
just for instance......this happened and not have a police officer come to your door without your side being heard
honestly.......that is "slander"
"slander" is very very serious........
so even if she goes to the police..and says..i have this bruise..from my boyfriend.....the police find you.....and say..
did you do it.....
this is very very flakey..........................she needed a police file..and someone does find you.......(4th sentence)

complaints are filed and followed up..or it is "slander"
i was going to ask..why you were not put on as "guarantor"..when the signing/purchase happened..
but i think..............you have done something..

my husband did appliance repairs.....and in collecting payment we filed liens..and court..proper channels have to be done and if not.....charges with the local police are done..
you have done something...and the police told you what to do then............
