Definitely Yes! If your meeting a woman for the first time, and you want to get your attention then you HAVE to look good. Same deal with clients, vendors etc. The thing is, a person has a pre-conceived idea of what you may look like, and if you don't look proper then it will be a huge disappointment, some cases, it doesn't even matter what you say, if you don't look good then that's the only thing a person will pay attention to. Yes, trust me sending the wrong impression is a no no!. If your a guy wear something good like a suit or if your going to meet your girl friends parents or whatever nice jeans and a t-shirt. Try something nice but not so nice that they will think your trying too hard, when you first met some one always grasp there hand firmly smile and make eye contact, that will show them your happy and open to meeting new people and it will show confidence that your making eye contact!. good luck.

Meeting for the first time...absolutely. The appearance of another person on first meeting makes a big, big impression. After all, they dont know your personality yet, so your internal beauty cannot shine through until they know a bit more about you.
Only when you know a person well, will their inner beauty make them visually beautiful.

To a certain extent. The least one could do is to look presentable and neat, with the suitable dressing, etc.
However, if one judges another just based on the superficial aspect of appearance (example: I won't date her just because she does not have a certain hair color or a certain waist size), consider the meeting unimportant.

I met a business woman with a tooth in the front of her mouth that was completely black, like rotten. The next time I saw her she obviously had a bridge or false teeth put in or something. But I still can't get the snaggle-toothed image out of my head!
