Hamlet's "madness" is seen in everyday life in the fact that we're all actors playing roles, as Hamlet's madness was an act he put on to confuse his uncle and the other conspirators.

pulp the book, make it into papier-mâchét and use it as a draft excluder. i would argue that it is wrong to try and draw such lessons from, what is primarily a work of fiction. it was written to entertain and edify an audience, that it is a work of art is an incidental side effect of Shakespeare's genius. Shakespeare has drawn a dramatic and lucid picture of madness in hamlet that is perfect for the presentation on stage. the more subtle and insidious nature of mental illness is better understood from the perspective of real life.

Everyone has asked the "To be or not to be" question, and most people come up with the same answer, what if what comes after this is worse? And who hasn't been angry at a parent and taken it out on a friend (he says to Ophelia "Get thee to a nunnery" when he's angry at his mother for sleeping with his uncle)? And the way teens plot to uncover each other's secrets is like the scene where Hamlet plots to figure out whether his uncle killed his father by showing him a play, and if he reacts, he definitely did it.

naaaa naaaaaaaaaa naaaaaaaa the other answeres got it all wrong to be or not to be is not the quote for you because you see you have already chosen to be.... you have chosen to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune ....you have chosen to live because ur asking how to apply that knowlege to life.....the quote i would suggest to you is 'FOR THERE IS NOTHING EITHER GOOD OR BAD BUT THINKING MAKES IT SO' i know it may seem stupid at first buut seriously consider it and take it into deep thouht and thinkk of the meaning of that quote and i promise you it will re-difine the way you make choices, it will re-difine the way you think and it will most certainly re-difne the way you live your life!!!!!................ it is actually quite beautiful if u understand the true meaning behind it.... think!!! and u will get it!!

Because we are all mad! Some more than others. Except for me, I'm sane.
