I would suggest doing MBA over PGDBM. MBA is master program which offers you Post Graduate Degree at the end of the program while PGDBM will only offer you Post Graduate Diploma. While searching for job Degree is preferred over Diploma from employers' point of view.

First of all professionally there is no difference between post graduatation in business management[pgbm], post graudutation diploma in business management[pgdbm], and mba degree. technically an institute afflilated with an university gives an mba degree like fms, jbims and autonomous institutes give diploma in management [pgbm, pgdbm] like iims, iift, mdi xlri etc. hence ur future career prospects depends on the reputation of the institute rather than on the degree or diploma given by it. PGDBM and MBA differ in accredition. Most of the universities and colleges affiliated to universities award MBA degree. However, PGDBM is a course of similar, if not exactly same curriculum, awarded by autonomous institutions. The trend was started by the IIMs( all IIMs award PGDBM and not MBA) and soon all private institutions joined the fray ................. All India Council for Techincal Education (A.I.C.T.E.) accredits the PGDBM courses. However, several colleges run PGDBM courses without accredition from A.I.C.T.E. It doesn't make a difference whether you do an MBA or a PGDBM..the placements of PGDBM courses at good institutes is equally good to MBA courses. Keep in mind that before joining a PGDBM course, you should check whether the PGDBM course is accredited by AICTE. This accredition makes you eligible for all government jobs which require a master's degree.
