I can't remember his wife's name, but I do know that his brother (Aaaron) tried to break up the marriage at their sister (Miriam) request. She objected to the marriage because Moses married a black woman instead of someone of their own (paler) skin color. In response, God struck her with leprosy for seven days. It's a rather ironic punishment when you consider that leprosy makes you very, very pale. She apologized and was forgiven (and the leprosy was lifted from her)

I am not sure why you think this is news. Its Judaism 101 "race" does not exist. "NATIONHOOD" is determinative. Moses' wife and Ruth both were adopted into the tribe of the children of Israel Note: I don't think Miriam made racist comments. My recollection is that to the contrary she was concerned that Moses was not spending enough time with his wife. She was punished for gossiping.

Sorry, I don't know. there is nothing wrong with interracial marriage. The bible talked about not marrying others outside of your faith, more than outside of your race. the Israelites served The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He didn't want them to marry people who served other Gods.

Miriam didn't get leprosy because of what the person before me said. She got it because she was mad that Moses heard from God.
