I'm an incoming college freshman and I've always wanted to join the cheerdancing troupe in the university I'm applying to. That university is famous for winning the annual cheerdancing competition everytime. Eversince I was a child, I've always wanted to be a cheerleader someday. I've joined our cheerdancing competition back in 1st year highschool and we won 2nd place. I was still a freshman back then. It was the first time I've entered a cheerdancing competition and it was really a great experience. And I want to experience it again and the competition is broadcasted nationwide. I want to be seen in TV as well. However, I don't know how to cartwheel, eggroll or breakdancing. I don't think I will be able to make it to the organization since there is an audition. I only know the dance we had in our 1st year highschool. I was one of the flyers since I'm one of the smallest and lightest. How can I be able to make it?

Audition. If you make it, great. If you don't, ask the coaches how you can practice for next year's tryouts. Then do what they say. After all, they are the ones making the decision.

I agree with the first answer; do your best at the audition, ask the jury what you can improve on and practice, practice, practice.

I got rejected from my college's cheerleading troupe during my freshman year, but I made the right move of asking the jury what I could do to improve (with a smile, of course). They told me that I should work more on my rhythm and I trained hard for that one year; mostly with my dancer friends. At first I couldn't do any breakdancing at all but my friends taught me how. The jury was really impressed about my audition the next year.

All in all, all the best for your audition! I'm sure you can do it if you want it bad enough :)

you can join a local cheerleading or dancing stuidio. most dancing studios have a hip hop class that has cheering in them. they will teach you how to break dance and pop and even krump. you should also go to a few more competitions and see what exactly your getting yourself into. over the last years cheering and dancing has changed a lot. good luck with making it.

ps i am aflyer too!!
