Find a new style that you like. Get a good haircut at a nice salon to start - a great haircut makes a huge difference in how you look. Then think about the people who you think are beautiful and what you find interesting or beautiful about them. Think about what out of those things you would be comfortable with and what would look good on you. I think true style is knowing yourself really well and knowing what suits you. Do you want to have a retro vibe? High fashion? Cheerleader? It takes practice to find what really suits you, but it's worth it. Then get out there and go shopping for your new look. You don't have to change your whole wardrobe (unless you hate everything you own) but buy some simple new things in flattering cuts and colors. Neutrals work well for most people, and you can add several colors you really like into the mix. Take a look at some magazines but don't be fooled by what's trendy now, find things that would have been in style a few years ago and will be in style in the future. I never buy anything I don't love. Add a few of these to your wardrobe: Cardigans in solid colors Tank tops Blouses (button-ups, fancy shirts, etc) Sandals A pair of flattering jeans that fit you well A skirt or two if you're comfortable with that A good jacket (please don't wear sweatshirts all the time!) American Apparel is a good place to start because their clothes can go with ANY style. They work if you're a hipster or if you're a 40ish soccer mom. Well, not the spandex body suits, but the simple stuff. A little pricey, but good quality. Build simple, flattering outfits. You can't go wrong with a tank top with a cardigan over it, nice jeans, and flats or sandals. You instantly look pulled together while still being casual. A skirt that you like or a few casual dresses can help change up your look, but only wear them if you're comfortable in them. Heels aren't necessary to be feminine, especially since you're on the tall side. Cute flats and sandals will be fine. I hope this helps and I really wish you the best of luck!
