I'm not saying Marcel was a saint; I am saying that the juvenile behavior of Elan, Elia, Cliff, and the rest of the witchhunt gang was reprehensible, and I think the show was diminished this year by their bully-like behavior. I was repulsed by it and thought Chef Tom should have sent them all home after Cliff manhandled Marcel.

I think that they screwed this season of Top Chef up completely. I think that Marcel turned a lot of people off, and I can understand why. However, I think that the majority of the group acted worse than most little kids would. No wonder they didn't have a reunion! Although, I don't think that he hurt Marcel, I think that they were right to send Cliff home. You just can't put your hands on other people. I didn't care for Marcel, but I think that it should have been between Sam and him. Sam should have been in the finale. I think Tom Colicchio was wrong about the not cooking aspect- that was even a challenge. I think that someone in charge wanted a showdown between Marcel and Ilan. Those in charge of the show just totally screwed up with so many things. Giving away the ending on their website before it aired. (Not to mention the Food and Wine leak.) That is ridiculous. Did anyone watch the after show web-cast? I think that Marcel was drunk!!! Of course, I don't blame him. With all the whining and screw ups, one of my favorite shows has been ruined for me!

Marcel wasn't "bullied" just for the sake of bullying.
He was disliked by EVERY SINGLE OTHER CHEF!

Why do you think he was sooooooo disliked?
Marcel cheated early in the competition & that is why ALL the other chefs disliked him.
To keep the competition on an even playing field no contestant was allowed (prior to the finale) to bring or use any of their own ingredients or equipment or cookbooks or recipes.
Having any of these items would give one an unfair advantage.
ALL had to cook and/or create using the SAME products/utensils/equipment as the others.

Ever wonder why (according to him) Marcels ice cream, in episode 3, was the only one with a different consistancy?
Or he was the only one who could perform the infamous "foams" ?

Marcel was confronted & had ingredients confiscated.
He brought ingredients with him & was caught with them.

Why do you think Ilan tried to "foam" a salad dressing (unsuccessfully, I might add) ?
Do ya think he was trying to prove a point? That maybe Marcel was using additional ingredients that were not available to the others.....? Or did you see just the (much editted) version on TV that kind of looked like he was just mocking Marcel?

Marcel cheated PERIOD
& He admittedly tried to intimidate to throw other chefs off of their game.
His plan/ploy worked much to his own advantage & got him to the Finale.
Then, when he WAS ALLOWED to bring his little arsenal of chemicals........his only success with them was adding a chemical gum to fresh pineapple & calling it POI.

no, you are not alone. I think he was also bullied. they were correct in sending cliff home, but the others should have had something taken away from them, like a trip to hawaii.
