Same problem here. I moved to a new town a few months ago and I want to ask a girl out. The thing is, I dont know if she likes me. So you know what Im doing? Getting a trusted friend to help. Get your friend, to get his girlfriend, to ask the girl you like, what she thinks about you. Have her say "what do you think of (Insert name here)?" That might work and she might be expecting it and not be surprised. (Girls will say no most of the time when they are not expecting it). Good luck! ( Wish me luck too!)

Just say that you'd like to go out with her. You might say something like, "If you're free on Valentine's day, would you like to go [see a movie, have dinner... you fill in the blank] with me?" This implies that you are going no matter what she says (whether that's true or not), rather than giving her the idea that you're only going to be doing something interesting if she's along. You don't have to say, "I really like you" or make any other grand proclamation of love or devotion; just invite her to spend a little time with you in something you're going to be doing anyway.

If she says that she already has a date, you've lost absolutely nothing by trying, especially when you phrase it as though you're wanting company for something you're planning on doing regardless. If she doesn't have a date, then chances are, you've got a "yes."

We women really don't have to be invited with any great ceremony; we're human too, and don't expect you to be perfect. I think it's safe to say that most women are pleased to be asked out (even if we can't go); I personally take it as a compliment that a man believes he would enjoy spending time with me.

i do not imagine it really is cliche in any respect!! Why do it the day after valentines day.. that should be weird and wonderful. I say take her out on valentines day and make her sense particular and then ask her out.

Well.. i tink you should be impromptu.. at least it is sincere.. and not so fake.. some guys do it as if they are reading off a script.. and there doesn't seem to have feelings in their speech.. If you are the kind who will fumble over your words, the just run through roughly what you have in mind.. BUT don't go memorise..

i personally think that you should not say "i love you".. straight into her face.. It sounds awkward.. especially when your relationship is not that well..

Valentines day is very stressful all the joints are crowed will be hard to sell yourself fighting the crowds send the flowers tell her your thinking of her and hope you can get together sometime.

First...ask her if she has a date for Valentines...than you will know how to proceed .....if she says no...than just ask her if she would like to go out with you....if she says no..than says something like ....ok, maybe some other time than..and move on....if she says yes, than start making your plans.....

best of luck to you....

if your relationship isn't great, then why go through all the trouble. if she doesn't like you the way you like her, you can't change her mind just by giving her flowers or candy. don't make it about Valentines Day.

Flowers are good.

In terms of what to say: just tell her how you truly feel about her. If you're nervous don't show it. If she rejects you, don't show the disappointment and move on.
