Sometimes flying into a different city and taking a train there is a little less expensive..but Jetblue has some good deals..as far as hotels..I stayed at this place called Hotel Hortus..it wasnt too expensive but they have free breakfast in the a.m. and they can tell you all the good places to visit in a weekend..be sure to visit the Van Gough, the Rijks and The Anne Frank House..those are a must see while in A'dam. Take a canal tour and walk the RLD at night you'll see some interesting sights there..lol..have fun and be safe!

When I was there I stayed in a christian hostel just outside of the red light district. Here are some pros and cons of the place.
pros: people were really nice, it was very close to all the action, cheap (around 20 euro a night)
cons: its a hostel so you had to share a room with 15 other people, there was a 2 oclock lockout but it was right by the redlight district noise and commotion doesn't stop until 5 in the morning so you have to sit inside not being able to sleep bc its so loud.
If you have money I would definitely stay in a hotel (they are about 100 euro a night) and book early bc amsterdam is one of the top tourist attractions in europe.
Try www.orbtiz.com or priceline.com for flights.

Get Easy jet or BMidland,go to www outside amsterdam central station, they sort you a good cheap hotel, plenty of 4 and 5 star hotels cheap in winter. When you are settled,go to De Rokerij just off the leidesplein for a good smoke, chill out, then later you could try thr Escape club for a bounce, its in Rembrantplein. Have a good one,its a great place to relax, just be sensible and have fun

I had a look for you on a travel website, and if you book with hotel.de you can stay in Intercontinental IC Amsterdam from £281 a night, which isn't bad for a 5 star hotel. If you want a lower price though you could stay in Swissotel Amsterdam For £127 if you book through hotel.de . Though you could always try expedia.co.uk or lastminute.com

Alan Partridge. in case you took David Brent and set it up with somewhat forethought, he'd be likely to get arrested or beaten up contained in the Dam fairly right away, so problem solved. Alan ought to easily grate on you extra and further because the nighttime wore on.

This may involve a lot of travelling dependent on where you are in the UK (if that is where you are), in Hull, P&O ferries are currently doing a 2 for 1 offer, £68 for the pair of you to go which includes coach transfer from rotterdam to amsterdam, for an extra night I think its another £20 on top of that.

As for hotels in amsterdam, all prices usually include tax's and are room prices not per person prices.

The above link is one I have used before and gives you all the details you need.
Below are some rooms which I have found to give you an example, all sourced from hotels.nl
