Naruto has a more... detailed plot than Inuyasha. In Inuyasha, the main focus is pretty simple- "Kill Miroku (sp) and find the jewel shards and purify them". Of course its not that easy and they face a lot of obstacles, but the purpose isn't complicated too much by other factors. In the fashion of the great Rumiko Takahashi, there is a great deal of romantic comedy mixed in with this.

Naruto on the other had is more complicated as far as plot goes since its basic plotline is very vauge, so many 'story arcs' root from it. Its also a more action anime than Inuyasha, and the fight scenes are not usually overly dramatic with big sweeping motions and flashy weapons. The only romance in Naruto is rather trivial and/or is usually left implied. Now the basic plotline is, "Naruto wants to become hokage (the greates ninja of his villiage)" but then there are questions like, "how will this character change?", "who is this character", and "how will they defeat this enemy?" That seem like easy questions to answer, but like I mentioned earlier, The plot always thickens, and usually there is more than just a physical battle that has to be overcome. There is also plenty of humor in Naruto, but its usually just from random antics. Also Naruto tends to go on about the virture of hard work and friendship.

In my opinion, Naruto is better. But it depends on your personality. If you like more simple dramatic anime that's easy to laugh at, then Inuyasha is best for you. If you like detailed storylines and physical, mental, and emotional battles occuring all the time with not so subtle lessons on friendship and hardwork, then Naruto is for you.

I would say Naruto. I started getting into Naruto and InuYasha at the same time -- and I chose Naruto.

Naruto has more of an interesting story-line and has more of a variety of characters and anime techniques than InuYasha. InuYasha's a good show -- but there's a reason why Naruto is said to be one of the best anime shows.

I find that inuyasha is better for girls whilst naruto is more for boys. In animation and story plot wise, inuyasha is much much better than naruto.

i'd say naruto is much better than inuyasha. i like the storyline, the characters and their personalities. you'll learn something from this anime, that i'm certain. it's action-packed. some episodes are kinda mushy too. love, action, adventure, fun ... everything is in this anime. no wonder it is still on-going.
