Relax, cervical cancer isn't lethal unless caught too late. Go for an annual pap test and you'll be no more likely to die of cervical cancer than the rest of us.
Anything that irritates the cervix could cause abnormal cell production. Hell, studies have shown talc powder used on the genital area can cause cervical cancer, because the talc particles can migrate inside and irritate.
So please relax, talk to your doc about your concerns and GET YOUR PAP TEST EVERY YEAR.

Why is this question posted under society and culture?
It's not the genital herpes that increases the risk of cervical cancer, it's the GENITAL WARTS caused by a kind of virus... I forgot, something like H16 and 17. There, that's the answer to your question

Nearly every woman who contracts cancer of the cervix is also infected with the human papillomavirus (HPV). However, many women with HPV don't get cervical cancer. Scientists are trying to figure out why some of these infections lead to the cancer. They now report that if a woman has genital herpes in addition to HPV, her risk of cervical cancer nearly doubles.

The two are totally different things; genital herpes won't give you cervical cancer.

There is an old association that predates the discovery of HPV. The statistical association is that if you have one, your risk for the other is increased (only statistically) Surveillance (Pap smears) reduces the risk of mortality to an extreme degree. The HPV vaccine may prevent development of carcinoma. See a doctor. You need an expert opinion.

Texas' governor seems to think so.....and I have mixed feelings on his passing that vaccine law. You can bet other governors nation-wide are watching this event unfold....stay tuned.....your state's governor may lay down the same such law.
