nails: your post states that if women were the dominant sex you wouldn't have weapons such as guns and atomic bombs. Three counterpoints:

1. Doesn't this imply that if women were in control you wouldn't have much technological progess, and that includes a lot of GOOD things such as medicine and transportation, etc, as well as the guns/bombs?

2. If you didn't have guns and bombs, you would just have people killing each other with swords. If you didn't have swords you would have people killing each other with spears. If you didn't have spears you would get your *** kicked by lions and bears.

3. You can't blame global warming on men because women use cars as much as men (that's if global warming is even affected much by humans).

Women have always been the dominant gender. Men have always been the hunter and the warrior. We hunt for the family, and we fight for the family. Without the support of the men the women would not have the essential tools to run the family. They would not have the food, clothing, and shelter to ensure the survival of the species.
It has always been this way, and if the women ever lose their dominance then that will be the day they climb down to the men's' level and we all will be battling in Armageddon.

No, but I hope someday to be able to see an egalitarian society where people get over their gender issues and live their lives. For sure women are going to keep increasing representation in government and corporations -- but I doubt that women will be able to significantly tip the balance all over the world. Well, as long as religion is around.

And I garauntee that the decline of organised religion will help.

Course, I'm concered about the young generation right now, many girls are complacent or assume the work is done. They dress and act as society dictates, not aware of anything, or calling it choice. So I think there could be a recession as far as all this goes. But I'm confident that we'll get there eventually.

And men are going to have to get over it.

Will women be the dominant sex in the future? I THINK NOT!. And as far as the world and nature goes, no woman will ever want to be the dominant sex, because it's just the way things are. Never in history have women been the dominant sex, i wonder why! and I say to you, we are still writing history and it's not going to change for the future generations, WHY? because it's just the way it is, Feminists might want to fight for all that is equal rights crap when they already have more rights then men, they just keep wanting more because they do not know any limits, any boundaries, they think of themselves as God himself. Come back to planet earth feminists, your not doing anyone any good, and definitely not to yourself. Men will always be the dominant sex, it is just the way it is, nature itself, and being a dominant sex doesn't make men better then women, both are equal.

Come on... you should not think of who is the more dominant gender or who is responsible for advancement... Think about equality and how both genders can work and live in harmony without someone being superior and dominant..... And by the way the reason for the so called advancement by men is not because they are more superior is because they took the gap and women were more occupied in raising kids and keeping the man happy at home... so i think both are responsible for the advancement of society.. without the other we would still be in the dark!

Currently, it is unlikely that women are the dominant sex. The vast majority of world leaders, business people, scientists and other upper echelon positions in the world are still held by men. This is likely due to the highly developed aggressive nature of males.

Males (in general) are stronger, more apt to resort to violence to solve problems, behave competitively and react instinctively. This seems to be an evolutionary advantage in order to survive as a species. In today's context, men still intimidate a lot of women from competitive situations.

A few stronger (and in my view, eventually all) females have the ability to compete on equal terms with their male counterparts mentally. Physically (somewhat a stereotype, not always true) men and women have advantages and disadvantages over each other. Socially women seem to have developed more advanced skills which likely stems from needing to deal with both aggressive males and possibly jealous females.

In the future I honestly believe females have the greatest opportunity to become the dominant species.

Modern man is surrounded with more cerebral problems than our ancient counterparts. Back then, it use to come down to fists and weapons and men excel at brutality. Now in an age where the flash of a nuclear weapon renders physical strength obsolete, women have the opportunity to mentally compete in this "man's world."

Eventually this will leave men with no physical advantage over women (that can or should be used in any case.) Both will be equally capable mentally. However men will still have their social disadvantage, something women have been developing far longer than we have.

Also, sexually women will (if they do not already) control the reigns. They are the only sex capable of carrying offspring to term, and thus will in the majority of the world determine who they will mate and bear children with. Here males are nearly trivial in the process already.

With new technological mastery of cloning, genetic engineering and therapy coming along now; it is not beyond the realm of possibility that the human race will find cloning an acceptable alternative route to having offspring. Cloning does not require the presence of a male. One can clone a female and have a new lifeform.

Overcoming religious protests over the practice of cloning and genetic engineering of children will be the only real hurdle. Evolution takes a little too long in this high tech and high speed world of ours. Mankind may one day seize the ability to evolve itself (but that's a whole other topic.)

Once these technologies are perfected women will no longer require males to even perpetuate the human race. In this scenario, women may eventually decide to phase men out, evolving the human race into a homogeneous one with only women. Hopefully, if anything should go wrong generations after this occured the human race will have been smart enough to store enough reproductive materials to reintroduce males in an emergency.

To summarize, women are likely not the dominant sex at the moment but our constant hunt for new technology coupled with their mental equality and social superiority may see us males (humorously enough) rendering ourselves racially irrelevant.

I don't understand if you mean dominant in number of women vs. number of men on earth. I think there are more women.

But if you're talking about being "dominant" I think there shouldn't be a dominant sex, just people. It depends on the personality.
There are weak men and strong men, the same is for women.
My mom was dominant. Future is equal rights, to do what you are capable to.

Women have always wielded more power (historically) than one might think. In the very begins of human society, woman was worshipped and revered and given ultimate social control (matrilineal society, goddess worship, etc.) because they were the ones who could seemingly bring about new life spontaneously. However, men began to realize that this life could not come without them, so they began to reverse the system--we are still living in a quite male-based society today. In the future, women could definitely be dominant, since they truly don't need men themselves to reproduce. Artificial insemmenation, you know? Men could not do that. So yes, woman are certainly biologically more capable of world domination.

women were once for a long time during the matriarchal ages, but now -as it is clear even to the blind- it is a patriarchal world where men not only dominate women but also nature. try to imagine for a sec if women were really dominate, there was not going to be harmful invention such as guns or atomic bombs, no global warming and so on..
so try to look deeper into it and please no more stupid sort of theories!!

One of the biggest myths, misgivings or misconstructions used against women is religion.

Women tend to have a better ability to understand human feelings and conflicts. Most often, they become better able to relate and connect with people.

Women provide excellent guidance in many areas of daily living.

Men and women are equal, but different.
