Well I am from the middle east , Valentines Day is also not a tradition here , yet you see most people celebrating , I am against it since it has nothing to do with out traditions and in many ways it hurts our customs, but I understand that sometimes you want an occasion like that just so express your feeling for whom you love , although it can be done on any other day , but to some people the Valentines days gives it a specialty

This is not Indian Culture you say. So what? Aren't you wearing pant and shirt? Its not Indian culture, then why are you wearing it? Shows the hypocrisy of Indian politics. Card companies are making money. So what? Everyone has to live somehow. They are not fleecing and cheating. Its just an occasion to celebrate the feeling of love. Need not make an issue out of a non issue.

I am because it has pagan origins. (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)

From Encarta.com: The holiday probably derives from the ancient Roman feast of Lupercalis (February 15), also called the Lupercalia. In an annual rite of fertility, eligible young men and women would be paired as couples through a town lottery. Briefly clad or naked men would then run through the town carrying the skins of newly sacrificed goats dipped in blood. The women of the town would present themselves to be gently slapped by the strips and marked by the blood to improve their chances of conceiving in the coming year.

♥♥♥ It's better to show your love for people throughout the year rather than wait for a special day to do it. ♥♥♥

Year's ago Valentine's Day was for children. Some engaged couples would celebrate it occasionally. Many women put a guilt trip on men, boyfriends and husbands, if they should forget to buy something or do something special for them.
I think it has become a commercial mess and should be left for the little kiddies to enjoy!

I am only against celebrating it only on Feb 14 every year. Everyday is full of love so my idea is to celebrate it everyday instead of one specific day.

Don't wait for Feb 14, make your day a romantic Valentine day today :)

valentines day is not for true lovers.will persons loving each other will wait for valentines day to come to express their love?
its a only a commercialized day to sell gifts and now youngsters use it show their money power, thats it..
I'm not against it,but i think its of no potential value or use.now a days gal friends and boy friends keep on changing, that also matters, its mainly for those new ones who land into love to make their pockets empty .wholly commercial otherwise

there is no kind of friction from my side coz its just how you percieve the idea of valentines day.. i am very sure the day you get someone close to you.. you would also want 2 make this day special.. i take it just another day when i can mk my partner feel special.. just like many other days i try to do dat.. all that is different is that we have love and romance in our psycology and mind on this day... thats it... so just make it special in your own way.
