I mean, the groundhog can't talk so what does it actually do to indicate it has or has not seen its shadow??

The Theory (which is more like a crazy traditional beleif) is that if the groundhog comes out and sees his shadow, he's scared by it and runs back into his hole. So if the groundhog comes out and doesn't stay out then he must have seen his shadow. If he doesn't run then he must have missed it. Silly, huh?

I think it is not so much that the groundhog actually sees his shadow, but rather IF it could. That is, if the sun was shining to provide enough light so that the groundhog could cast a shadow then it could be seen.

Well, let's be realistic here. A groundhog does not predict if spring comes early. Groundhog's day is merely for entertainment purposes. Spring officially begins at the same every year...it's March 21 or 22.

seem down, lower back up, the position are you? You’re on a deliver with the guy your guy might want to scent like. What’s on your hand, lower back at me. I have it, it’s an oyster with 2 tickets to that ingredient you adore. seem again, the tickets are literally diamonds. some thing is a possibility even as your guy smells like previous Spice and under no circumstances a woman. I’m on a horse.?

Well, if the groundhog sees its shadow, it will go back into its hole.

If it doesn't, it will go back into its hole.

Thus our entire rationale for existence has been thrown into question.

God bless.
