No, the Supreme Court was not being "liberal" when it ended the recounts in Florida. And in one sense, the Supreme Court wasn't being "conservative" either. Those 5 Supreme Court Justices who ended the recount were being loyal Republicans, but in a crucial way they weren't being "conservative."
And if the Court had more "liberals" on it and if the situation in Florida were reversed (as Alan Dershowitz puts it, "the shoe on the other foot" test, that if Gore was ahead, if Bush was seeking the recount, and so Gore asked federal courts for an injunction to stop the recounts), would the Court have done the same thing for Gore? WE'LL NEVER KNOW, will we? It's downright impossible to tell.
I do believe that those conservative Justices would NOT have ruled in Gore's favor if the shoe had been on the other foot. Their motive for stopping the recounts in Florida was not the legal claim that they made. They were motivated by sheer partisanship. And that is why those Justices deserve to be impeached (those who remain on the Court, that is).
Have conservatives been hoping to replace liberal judges with conservatives in order to overturn Roe v. Wade? Ha! Like Rocky used to say to Bullwinkle, "Again? But that trick NEVER works!"

Vincent Bugliosi, the DA that prosecuted Manson, says the Supreme court action was the greatest crime in American history. They should have let the recount continue, and Gore would have won.
Every recount since has shown Gore the winner. But the corporate media doesn't let the public know much about it.

I thought it was incendiary that Al Gore, who won the election, seceded his bid for Presidency to Bush, against the results of the electoral college vote.

The supreme court ordered the recounts in Florida to stop. Every recount they did, bush won. The democrats were just trying to steal the election from the florida voters. Bush won every recount and the supreme court said "enough recounts Bush has won them all, he wins." Plain and simple.
