if something terrible were to happen to him, would you be forsaking him in this time away from home and loved ones? hmm perhaps getting mail is a good thing for a marine. actually, i think there is a site so that a person can write to deployed and overseas military personnel and government would encourage such a thing to keep up the spirits of our soldiers. it's kinda like, you have a child but you dont want anyone else loving that child.

I was in the Army for nine years. Yes soldiers can go without because for men all they have to do is masturbate. As for him writing other women, I wouldn't think it was a big deal as long as the letters weren't sexual in nature. As soldier over there, there is a lot of down time (free time) to the point that it drives you nuts. So writing is a good way of keeping busy.

I am out now but I write two other soldiers that I got connected with thru a penpal website. These soldiers have girlfriends or wives but I write them so they have other mail to read. I do not get personal, I just write about what Oregon's like or what's going on with my work. I feel you have nothing to worry about. Being over there away from you will just make him think about you more and realize how much he loves you and how valuable his time with you is.

I don't think its really nice of him to be writing other women...you are his fiance for crying sakes. When he asked you to marry him he gave up those rights.
