I meant personality. Damn typos. I wish you could edit out mistakes on questions like you can on answers.

I'm my mother's clone. But I knew this when I was a kid. I think that is why we didn't along so hot my last years of high school. I tried so hard NOT to think like her to the point that I purposefully did things the opposite of what she would expect just because I wanted to be different.

She was a high school English teacher and I refused .... downright REFUSED to major in Education because I did not want to grow up to be "my mom." *cough* The rest is history.

There are some things you just don't have control over. We are who we are and it's in our genes and we can't fight that no matter how hard we "think" we want to.

After college, I believe I was in my second year of teaching. All of a sudden "life" became clear. I remember going to visit my mother and thanking her...... for everything. You have to actually be living life and experiencing it to realize all that your parents have given you. Why these gifts they give us are not apparent at the time is beyond me. But the realizations we have later make it all come clear.

I'll be teaching.... I'll be home with my children....... I'll be with friends.... and something will come out of my mouth and I just freeze for a second. It's as though my mother was alive inside of me. I seriously have become her.... through and through. Yes.... I see more and more of my mother inside of me. And you know what? I couldn't be prouder. :) You'll get no rebelling from me anymore.

I think my personality is mostly like what I thought my father was like when I was a kid (long story). There are liberal dashes of my mother in the mix, though, along with some good stuff that I've tried to add on my own :-) I recognize more now that I'm older (I'll be 52 next Saturday), but I'm also freer to steer my own course away from the things that I don't like.

Very interesting topic you bring. I have noticed that I was much more like my mother when I was young. But as I grow, life changes, and things change. As i grow up, I can see my father emerging from my personality. But, it also depends from time to time. If i'm too stressed and tired, I move back to my mother's personality.

I have the same addictive personality as my father. I look just like him. But he passed, od'd on drugs. So I am becoming more like my mother. I am glad I didn't keep up with my fathers self desrtuctive ways.

What a good question. I didn't realize until I have gotten older. I am so much like my mom it's almost scary. Thank heavens my mom is still alive and we laugh about our similarities a lot.

Yes. The positive parts I don't mind. But the negative parts I'm very much aware of and try to change.

The older I get the more I see my Moms personality coming out. She's pretty laid back but don't make her mad...I am pretty much like that now.
