An unusual chromosomal makeup would result in physical deformities or an inability to sustain one's own life. Perhaps you mean genetic makeup since there have been dozens of separate scientific studies showing being gay is biological.

Regarding the proportion of gay people compared to straight people, the Indiana University Kinsey Reports of 1948 and 1953 reported 10% of males being more or less exclusively homosexual and 2% to 6% of females being more or less exclusively homosexual. These results have been repeatedly confirmed by subsequent studies such as the 1990 study (Homosexuality/Heterosexuality by McWhirter, Sanders, and Reinisch) which stated 13.95% of males and 4.25% of females had "extensive" or "more than incidental" homosexual experience and the 1993 study (The Janus Report on Sexual Behavior) that found 9% of men and 5% of women were involved in frequent or ongoing homosexual experiences.

The researcher who claimed a genetic basis for homosexuality later admitted that it was not true. He wanted homosexuality to be more widely accepted so he could come out of the closet. There has been no other scientific research to establish any genetic link to homosexuality.

Currently, it is believed that hormonal differences (influenced by both the mother and the infant) while in the womb predispose, but do not guarantee, homosexual preferences later in life.

I don't know anyone who has had a complete human chromosonal count done. I'm not even sure if the human genome has been completed.
