Are you a senior citizen (62)? If so, you can get a Reverse Mortgage, where you borrow against the equity in your home, and don't have to worry about a minimum income to make payments every month. It is paid back when you move.
i would check the hud websites.
good luck

Try charitable orgs like Catholic Charities or Jewish Philanthropies in your area. If you are a senior, you may qualify for a reverse mortgage.

I would check into reverse mortgages. Do a google search for that, to get good info, and go from there. Also, there are supposed to be grants and loan guarantees from FEMA and HUD...but I understand they are really, really dragging their feet on doing them. I might also talk to a financial planner through a well know firm like Edward Jones, AG Edwards etc. for any ideas that they might have.
