I don't think so. I don't see too many who can make a cognitive sentence without the word "like" in it, neither can they spell even some of the most basic words. They know all the cuss words, can recite gangster rap verbatim, and know every drug on the illegal market, and all the sexual positions down to the last detail. But they can't pass a spelling test.
To be fair, they are more computer literate and technology oriented than previous generations. But without basic life skills, I seriously doubt they will have an easy time with life.

Actually, kids used to know even more than they do. Think back to the Middle Ages, or even a couple hundred years ago. Families lived in a single room (no privacy, if you get my meaning) and most families raised animals (exposing children to "the facts of life" from the get-go.) There was a time when girls got married at 11.
Sex is a natural part of human behavior, so the concept has never actually been too much for kids to handle. (Not that pedophilia is normal.) Our culture just has some things pretty twisted.

YES and blame it on TV and Radio as far as I'm concerned and The Hormones they inject the animals we eat my daughter got her period at 10 years old in 4th grade and was wearing a bra in 3rd grade hard to Discuss Sex and Birds and the bees with her when she still believed in Santa Claus...and watching Lizie Mcguire Raven sister sister Etc these shows although Cute and stuff were more advanced then a child of 10 should watch although I tried to eliminate her TV time to such shows theres always talk amongst Friends at school and such and her school actually told Them about SEX in 4 th grade at end of the year which I had already explained to her about her period and bra only but No the school teaches it early here unbelievable wonder what ever happened to let kids be kids huh.. plus blame it on all the high tech gadgets now a days computers ,internet access ,ipods, three way calling , call waiting, cell phones

no i dnt really think that u can kno to much because i guess it's better to "kno to much" and be over educated then under educated but i guess it is evens it self out or cant be good or bad all in the same way because if a child is over educated then they could make up a plan to sneak out of the house and yes this can be bad but let's stay a child is walking down the street but there under educated then they will be taken advantage of so i guess it depends on how they use it hopefully to the greater good like some ppl in power

Define "inappropriate."
If you mean they know more about sexuality, that's true, but not necessarily a bad thing. I would feel better if they got more information at home, from their parents, or in school, from qualified health teachers (not ministers... don't get me started about that idiotic "abstinence education"), rather than their peers, television or Internet chat rooms.
Kids are going to be curious about sex, and teenagers are going to experiment, no matter how much Jesus you throw at them.
I AM disturbed about the amount of violence our kids are exposed to. Sex is normal, violence is not. I would much rather have a kid watching people having normal, loving sex than playing video games where he's cutting people's heads off.

Yes, actually...they do. But you won't get an honest answer to that question in here. However, you'll have to blame the changing school systems for that. All the parents said it's okay for the educators to teach them about everything we know as adults and nothing, but nothing is sacred anymore.
It's a sad, sad world.
