i saw some pic of WWII and I compared them with European and they're very short. Why?

no...their diets have changed and their heights are now pretty much close to Westerners.
There have been reports that North Korean soldiers being quite short (average of 165.5cms), due not just to genetics and diet, but also recent famines.

the image of asians are the short little people.
not so true. Maybe 50-100 years ago when they had famine and war, but now the younger generation eats the same trash that we do, filled with hormones, Pizza Hutt, McDonalds etc.
There were many young men much taller than me (Im average sized 22 year old) when I lived there (couple of years).
Most of them were shorter or same hight, but there were some crazy genetic freak exceptions. One example was 2 14 year old boys. One was HUGE! as in ceiling of a room huge, and the other was small/normal sized. I dont know what that kid had been drinking, he said milk was his secret. lol.

Chinese, Thais and North Koreans are much shorter. I met some Japanes people who were around 2 meters of height! Though some of them are pretty short. Just like Europeans,no? Thais are short and among them are not so many tall people. Pigmeis are the shortest people in the world, as I remember from school geography lessons.

I live in Philippines, and it's funny how the foreigners stand out in a crowded mall. Yesss there aree exceptions - my brother in law is 6 feet tall, but my wife is a foot shorter than I am. (But her heart is great and golden)...
