hi there!

This is a problem i have seen many times.

It is common to all vehicles with an electronically driven speedometer ( not digital ).

the backyard mechanic is right.

What happens is that another circuit in the car will have a problem. The problem may be corrosion , shorted wire , loose contact or god knows what. When the problem starts; the circuit looks for a ground and steals it from the speedometer circuit!

that is why the speedometer jumps with the turn signal.

Have a Good electrical mechanic troubleshoot your system. Should be fairly easy to fix with a multimeter!

I hope this helps. Good Luck!

If the ABS light is on, clearly there's a problem with the ABS that you can't fix without a scan tool.

The speedometer sounds like a bad ground.

It sounds as though you may have a bad ground in the right turn signal housing or in that circuit.

The ABS light is an indication of a malfunction in the Anti-Lock braking system.
